The Garfield Trail is in good shape with nice, gradual grades and decent footing most of the way. This small section of the Garfield Ridge Trail is nice and dry so no problem getting to the top.
I got a relatively early start to try and beat the crowds and that worked pretty well: when I got to the summit there was only one other person there though I passed a few folks coming down as I was ascending. It was a little blustery up there and I actually layered up for my one hour or so stay as a few others came and went. I left a little before noon as the mid-day bubble started to appear - and I passed many people heading up as I was heading out. Lots of sun and not many clouds made for excellent views in all directions. I almost got a nap in but the breeze was bit too much :) |
