Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The 2 crossings at the start are extremely low right now and trivial to cross. At worst you are going to step in 3" of water except one small pool that deeper.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The ridge between the peaks is a tad brushy in spots, but the treadway is still easily discernible.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: About as easy as a 4K can get for a dog terrain-wise, just bring some water as there is none after the first 1/10 mile.
Bugs
Bugs: Skeeters hanging out at the car in the afternoon :(

Comments
Comments: I decided that since there wasn't much rain forecast if it even did rain, I'd still tackle Tecumseh after the Osceolas in the morning. The "back side" to Tecumseh is more gradual and relatively light on the rocks for most of the way, and despite being 1/2-mile longer with a little bit more elevation gain than the ski area approach, is in my opinion an easier (and nicer) route up. Quiet too, I saw 12-18 folks in all, all on their way down, and no one at the summit when I got there around 3 :) The rain started just as I reached the summit, but it was never more than a mild sprinkle and ended long before I reached the car.
