Date of Hike: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: about 20 cars in the lot (Ski Area Trailhead) at 11 AM but there were hundreds of spots to choose from...
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two very minor ones immediately upon starting were flowing after the rain at 11 and were nearly dried up at 3
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in decent shape. There is a turnoff to cross the riverbed about 1/4 in that can be missed (there is a yellow arrow sign) if you have your head down. It can get confusing because the trail seems to continue up the side of the bed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw one fella' but this would be an easy one for our four-legged friends.
Bugs
Bugs: none. The wind kept them away.

Comments
Comments: Original plan was to do Carrigain for flags on the 48, but the storms coming through scared us enough to abort a longer trip, so we planned to start late and do the short Tecumseh trip.
Started at 11:30, and got to the summit at 1. It is a very easy and short trip up and back down. The summit has about 15 people or so when we arrived and the gusty wind was making the flag fly beautifully. The views were actually quite a bit nicer than I anticipated (most guidebooks say there is little or no views) We stayed at the top for a little under an hour chatting and relaxing.
We are really glad we took a chance with the weather (ended up being beautiful out!) it really felt like a "welcome to fall" kind of hike.
