Picking up on a post from Zach Porter I intended to bag Sugarloaf and W. Castle. It's certainly doable provided you don't have a noon turn around time which I did. Easy, open woods, many well beaten herd paths. I add only one caution : getting onto the ridge to the Castles from the summit of Sugarloaf is tricky. It doesn't really turn into an easily recognizable ridge until you get to the saddle. I went too far back down the Sugarloaf trail and got too far to the Northeast on the buttress. This cost me about 1/2 hour. |
