Comments
Comments: After tagging a couple town highpoints and the sky was still blue I decided to go to Jackson Hill via the M-S Greenway from Pitcher Mountain. To my surprise and delight I found that the gate was open and drive able all the way to Hubbard Hill, all two miles. Notice said gate is locked at 8 pm. This would cut 4 miles off my round trip! Lots of people were picking berries and the bushes are loaded. I hit the path and enjoyed the soft footing of the greenway and I appreciated the cool shade of the trees. I met some Boy scouts on their last day of a backpacking trip headed to Pitcher Mountain as I was nearing Jackson's summit. Hazy weather but I appreciated the vista that I had to the south while the skies darkened and distance thunder came from the north. I checked out the Fox Brook campsite on my return, interesting open privy and no water in the brook and a nice big tent platform. Total hike was just 3.5 miles round trip. Nice walk to a beautiful summit.
