| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for the Mt. Tecumseh Trail northern approach is off Tripoli Rd to the left, a mile or so past the Osceola trailhead. Room for several cars. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Two crossings right near the trailhead- easily rock hopped. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No major issues. The north side approach is actually really nice and lush, IMO. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
A little steep in spots, but shouldn't be an issue for a seasoned canine hiker. As for water: besides the two brooks near the trailhead, there isn't really any, so bring some along. |
| Bugs: |
Almost non-existent due to our 5:30 PM start! |
| Lost and Found: |
Found a yellow shirt along the trail- brought it back to the trailhead and hung it on the trail sign. |

| Comments: |
Hiked Tecumseh after work today via the Mt. Tecumseh Trail from the north (had only done it from the ski area). I was expecting signs of light use, since the south approach is much more frequently used, but the trail was in great shape, and actually kind of nice. No erosion, blowdown, or debris issues to speak of. Longer (and with 200 ft. of reverse gain), but more wild than the south approach.
Thanks to Riley P. for a fun late afternoon/evening hike, and congrats on 25/48!
