Parking/Access Road Notes:
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing on Oliverian Brook Tr. was a simple rock step as well as the many crossings on the Downes Brook Tr. with current low levels. Some of the wider crossings could be tough with high water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A blowdown near top of Walden Tr.(crawl under or climb over). A few on Rollins and several on Downes Brook; none of which are being bypassed around. Don't expect to see blazes on Downes Brook Tr.. Fairly tight trail on upper Downes Brook.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Very dry up higher so plan accordingly. A few spots on Rollins where I'd hate to see a dog fall over.
Bugs
Bugs: Only a few out biting.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Emerel found a nice item belonging to a dog and found owners for return.

Comments
Comments: Perfectly timed; rain in last 5 minutes. Trails were mostly dry with a few wet areas on sections of Downes Brook. No hikers met from 20 minutes prior to Whiteface summit until Downes Brook parking. Downes Brook likely to be much harder in wet conditions due to mossy rocks and stream crossings. Oliverian route was as nice as we've seen it today. Great views from Passaconaway lookouts. Thanks to Emerel for car spot saving yet another road walk.
