Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings are all good. Gale river crossing is rock hop-able. Two of the river crossings on Bondcliff trail were bone dry (two higher ones). Only the lower one had water running, which was rock hop-able.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is some step bridge maintenance needed on upper Gale river trail as well as some large blow downs along the Bondcliff trail closer to Lincoln woods, although it's wilderness trail so most likely will not be taken care of.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few dogs, all were well-behaved and were doing fine on trails.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies and horseflies are out and strong. Didn't get bit too much but buzzing around on all of the summits and ridge line as there wasn't much wind.

Comments
Comments: Spectacular birthday trip (23) with my Dad and friend. We started on Gale river and quickly made it to the ridge in 2 hours, even with the steeper part near the ridge. Hit the hut and Galehead quickly and then started up the awful .8 section up South twin (stair master 5000) and were rewarded with wonderful cloudscapes and views of all ranges around. Walked the ridge over to Guyot shelter, turned 3 AT hikers around who missed the zealand jct. (needs new signage or blazing) and set up in the shelter. It was relatively full after we returned from a wonderful sun set from West Bond. Woke up this morning and hit Mt. Bond and Bondcliff to mark me at 30 out of 48. Coming down Bondcliff and out Lincoln woods was tiring and long but did all 10 miles in 7 hours. Bondcliff trail closer to Lincoln woods has some significant mud spots and standing water as well as a few larger blow downs that could be taken care of.
