Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of blow downs on lower third of Jewell - seemed like they had been there a while however, as new trails were being established around them.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My lab loved the hike today - the water along Ammonoosuc trail was wonderful for her. Had some issues with the pads of her feet between Monroe and Washington - the rocks were really rugged/sharp. I applied some Mushers Secret and put hiking "socks" on her feet - she wore those down the mountain. Will always put those on ahead of time now when I know it will be long distances of exposed rock - but this area seemed particularly tough.

Bugs: None!

Comments
Comments: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail is in my top 10 favorites - stunning trail and loved all of the water. Was reminded today about proper hydration on the trail. It's not just about drinking water - but replacing salts/electrolytes as well. Saw several hikers today with dehydration lying on the trail feeling utterly miserable. I gave the gatorade I had - but will remember to keep electrolyte tabs in my first aid kit from now on.
