My 1st NH 4,000 footer! The weather was ideal. 8:20am from W.V.S.A., took me 2 hours 50 minutes to summit, arriving at 11:10am. My backpack was very heavy while trying to be prepared for my first one. Took the Sosman Trail to the summit from the split, which is the clockwise direction. Enjoyed the summit with a good group of people for 45 minutes, leaving at 11:55am. Virtually no wind at the summit. Took me 1 hour and 40 minutes to descend, arriving at my car at 12:35pm. The temperature was 58F upon arrival, most of the ascent was between 66F - 70F, low 70Fs during the descent. Amazing and calm views with only high level clouds. Mount Washington had some clouds here and there (making its own weather), but you could see the summit and radio towers at times. |
