 | Comments: |
This was a redlining hike. I started in the Carriage Rd upper lot and did a loop down in to the Piper/Belknap valley then up the Boulder trail side of the mountain. It rained heavily the night before. Most of the rock and ledge was dry but there were sections of wet rock to be avoided. Also, the beginning of the Round Pond-Piper Mt Link has terrible footing. Very steep and narrow with lots of loose rock. The ground and the rock was wet from the rain and I fell once getting a nasty raspberry on my arm and calf. Poles are a must if descending this section of the trail. |
