Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at 0900 but when we got back at 230 the lot was full.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: only one minor crossing easily done.  
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Ethan Pond is in fine shape. Willey Range is rough and steep and gravelly. But no blowdowns or serious maintenance issues, and the ladders are in great shape.  
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw a few dogs and all seemed well but this hike could be rough on the tender paws with all the gravel and sharp rocks on Willey Range.

Bugs: Some black and deer flies but not too bad.

Comments: Hard steep hike. A good workout on the way up. Definitely need good footwear for the way down. The trail is rough and rocks slippery.
