Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bridged, below the waterfall
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Excellent, but some of the higher bog bridges are disintegrating and should be replaced.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This trail has a ladder early in. This is a dry trail, BRING ENOUGH WATER! Also, read "Pepper and Me"s" account posted yesterday to get an appreciation for what dogs will experience. The few we saw today seemed fine.
Bugs
Bugs: A few black flies and one or two skeeters.

Comments
Comments: We only went as far as the overlook (over Tuckerman) just above the "Alpine Zone" sign, due to a prior commitment I had to be home for later. Also, I was just too damn slow and short (and burnt out from a busy week) to make good time over the steep jumble of boulders that makes up most of this trail. There were beautiful views, so I was very disappointed to have to turn back. The original plan was to walk on those lovely relatively cairn-filled trails above tree line. Oh well.... We're lucky enough to live in MA, so we can always come back! And we will, eventually.
