Great 1 night overnight hike! Ascended up Whiteface in the afternoon via Blueberry Ledge. The upper stairs are no joke with a heavier pack but doable. Dogs might have some difficulty and need to be lifted. The Rollins trail between Whiteface and Passaconway is dry and fast. Trail maintenance is great and no real obstructions. Spent the night at the Rich Campsite testing out new tent and cooking gear. The campsite is just above the intersection of the Dicey's Mill Tr on the left. Only one other couple there so there was plenty of room. The platform for the toilet is still there and operational :). Water was flowing just below the campsite. It was shallow and took multiple times to fill the Platty for filtering. Ascended Passaconway in the morning. The trip down Dicey's Mill was fast and easy. Parking lot at Ferncroft was half full when we arrived around 11am. |
