We were early on a sunny Saturday but there were cars had parked on both sides of the road when we came down which would have made getting a larger vehicle out more challenging. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
We have a large breed dog who is able to hike 10-12 miles with some recovery after. This being so much less I wasn't worried. He did fine but the day after his feet were very raw and sore. The rocks are very abrasive and there often is no other footing options. We treated them and he is recovering. Luckily he came down the Jewell Trail with more cautious members of our group or we would be at the vet...again. He is going to have to wear boots when we make it to Adams. |
