Comments
Comments: The Garfield Trail made for a pleasant hike. Elected to use the herd path to Garfield Pond. The start of the herd path has a low small pile of branches. The herd path is mostly evident. On approach to the pond the herd path turns to the right with a spur leading down to the edge of the pond with a nice view to the bare summits of Franconia Ridge. The pond can be used as a navigational aid to get to the Garfield Ridge trail if you feel uncertain on the direction of the pathway.
Great views from the summit. There was a lot of hikers at the summit. Met an AMC sponsored group. Talked with many Pemi Loopers on the Garfield Ridge Trail.
