Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of crowns down on Daniel Webster below treeline. One climb-over on Jackson Branch. Some sections of Gulfside and Crawford have herd paths forming in the grasses on the sides of the trail, please stay on the trail folks!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw several out with their people in the southerns later in the day.
Bugs
Bugs: The wind and cool in the morning, and breezes in the afternoon, kept them away above treeline. Not terrible below treeline, but not great either, black flies mostly.

Comments
Comments: Yesterday was an excellent day for a full Presidential Traverse (Madison-Jackson), with great (though hazy) views, cool temperatures, and breezes. Really couldn't have asked for a better day. This was as dry as I've seen the Presidentials. Some small sections of mud on Daniel Webster, but mostly dry above treeline except in a few spots. Typical muddy spots between Eisenhower and Pierce, and damp sections of Webster-Jackson. Thanks to Denise, Chris, and Ashley for a great day on the heights!
