Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Small crossings, all easy rock hops. Rocks are slippery so just watch your step!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: On big blowdown across Airline, no limbs so you can climb over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Most dogs will have difficulty with King Ravine, Great Gully, Chemin des Dames. I would recommend not taking them through these three trails. Above treeline watch your dogs pads as they can take a major beating for bigger breeds.
Bugs
Bugs: Must have all died off with the cold snap for a few days, so none for now!

Comments
Comments: Valley way was a muddy mess with spots of standing water from mile two most of the way to the hut, will be that way for a few more days until things dry out. Airline was muddy and had running water for a few sections below treeline but in better shape than Valley Way. All other trails in fine shape. King Ravine, Great Gully, Chemin des Dames are steep with rough footing but well worth it if you are looking for a different and more challenging approaches. Make sure to check out the Subway and Ice Caves on your way through!

Great day going up and down Mount Adams, weather held off until early afternoon and even then it was comfortable hiking in the rain, although the boulders were becoming slicker by the minute. Undercast came in as the afternoon went on creating some really unique views from above it.
