Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two very small ones - no issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Brunel Trail has many felled tress across the path - most of which have been there for some time and are simple step overs. There are three which require small whack-arounds: one maybe a half mile north of Rob Brook Road, one about .75 mile beyond that, and another in the col between Owl's Cliff and Mt. Tremont. The Owl's Cliff spur also has a couple of trees in the trail but these are simple step overs. I did notice some recent looking trail clearing along the way so thanks for that.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw one with it's two human companions on the Mount Tremont summit. There's water for Fido along Rob Brook Road and on the Brunel Trail leading up to Owl's Cliff.
Bugs
Bugs: Skeeters were out on Rob Brook Road - so much so I wore a bug net. Once into the woods insects weren't bad at all and just somewhat annoying at the outlooks.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found: a pencil, on the final ascent to Mount Tremont. I donated it to the Owl's Cliff jar on my visit later.

Comments
Comments: This section of the Brunel Trail is brushy in spots and leaves cover the trail in many areas also hiding roots and rocks beneath. In addition to the many fallen trees I noticed at least a couple of widowmakers which are hanging on. The trail is blazed well enough up to Owl's Cliff but no so much beyond though the final push to Mount Tremont's summit is fairly obvious - albeit very steep and in some places loose. A couple of times in the col I had to stop and make sure I was still on the trail. All this added up to a 'wild' feel - which I actually enjoyed.

Grey skies made for monochrome views and pics at each outlook. Rain held of until I was a half mile from my car. Outside of the two folks on the summit who ascended from the north I didn't see anyone else on this hike.

PS: lots of motorcycles on the Kanc this afternoon - be careful this week.
