Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All brooks were full and water was flowing at a good clip. First two crossings of brook required care, using trekking poles they could be done by rock hoping, with slightly wet boots. Other water crossings could be crossed without difficulty by rock hoping.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: trail was in great shape; one or two minor step overs. Someone or some group has done a very good job keeping the trail clear. Upper portions of trail had lots of running water.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: did not see any dogs
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs, cool temperatures and wind probably kept them away.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nothing on trail or in parking lot.

Comments
Comments: Although overcast and with a steady wind and cool temperatures at top, this was still a good hike. Unfortunately no views at all from the summit. With the wind and cold I was only on the summit for a minute. Met about 11 other people on the trail. About a mile down from the summit while chatting with another solo hiker we watched a large and slow beaver wander onto the trail. That was cool. For the first time I used a Garmin Vivofit, it was a "hand-me-down" that someone had give me. Amazing to watch your mileage progress as you plod along.
