| Comments: |
Mt Kinsman trail is easy to follow with generally good footing and mostly moderate grades. The spur trail to Bald Peak is in good condition. The side path to the flume leaves to the right (on ascent) immediately after the crossing of Kendall Brook (third brook crossing on Mt Kinsman Trail). It is easy to follow but be careful near the deep chasm. The Kinsman Ridge trail has many ledge areas that could be tricky if wet or icy. The clouds cleared out enough to permit a view down to Kinsman Pond from the lower ledge at North Kinsman. There was no snow or ice on the trails although small patches of ice can be seen off the trail in a few spots. Painted Trillium, Red Trillium, Hobblebush, Bluebead Lily, and Bunchberry were flowering today.
Met many other hikers on the trails. Limited views today due to the clouds but there was no rain. |
