| Bugs: |
A few black flies and mosquitoes early but not annoying. Mosquitoes got bad during the descent closing in on Lonesome Lake. They stuck with me until I was back in my car. Got a few bites but I've definitely experienced worse. |

| Comments: |
High Cannon is ice free but wet and muddy just before the junction with Kinsman Ridge. More mud and water in the trail from the summit down to Lonesome Lake. Water and mud were annoying but avoidable enough that I didn't get soggy feet. Still some ice on Kinsman Ridge between the junction with High Cannon and Lonesome Lake trail. No need for traction though, it was pretty easily avoidable even when descending. Lots of wet, slick granite from melt-off though so be mindful. All in all a great day. Warm temps, lots of sun, great views and few people. Glad I got this in before the weekend rush. |
