Comments
Comments: I know this is considered an easy loop. After finishing it I said never again (all in one hike) because of all the rocks! There are an incredible amount of rocks which ended up really bothering my knees. I had done Eisenhower the previous day and had no issues at all. This hike just felt like stairs of rocks. There is ice on the Mount Avalon trail between Field and Avalon. I used my microspikes for about 10 minutes coming down the Mount Avalon Trail from Mount Field. I'm cautious but I'd recommend a pair just in case.

Beautiful dense trees on the Mount Tom Spur and bright green moss on the tress as you make your way to Mount Field. The views are limited from Tom and Field, although there have been some tree cutdown to open the view up a bit. I didn't take in much after I left Field as I was getting frustrated with all of the rocks!!

Took us 6 hours including breaks.
