Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of space in the Basin north bound lot at 6:45 am, packed when I left. Noticed the usual crowds parked along highway up at Lafayette when headed to turn around at the Tramway.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Noticeable difference in depth and flow rate between early AM and late PM at crossings of Cascade Brook due to high temps and upper terrain melt off of a beautiful day. None an issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Cut out a few blow downs. 2 remain, one an easy step over on the ground and the second not actually blocking the trail, more parallel and at head height but you'll scrub a large pack on it. De-limbed, passable, and left for when more crew on hand Memorial Day weekend. Placed some stepstones in perpertually wet spots at lower elev.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: 3 dogs, no issues.
Bugs
Bugs: A pleasant bug free experience.

Comments
Comments: If you havent gone up KPT recently, I'd recommend it. It starts as a stroll, gets rugged after a bit, and follows a stream bed in places, but it's a gem if you like a moderate challenge to visit an enchanted forest with plenty of pleasant cascades along the way. After 6 yrs of no maint. it's had a year of extensive trimming, cleaning, drainage work, step stones placed, and washouts repaired. Yeah the bog bridges are rough at the low elevations but the top ones are good and the trail's been dried out quite a bit. Headed up Memorial Day weekend (in the rain from the looks of it)to knock out the last of the blowdowns, set some more stones, repair some "fancy" log work. We'd love to see ya out there, it's a great trail!
