| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking, even though it was packaged. It's a bit odd to walk down the roads to get to the trailhead, but it's really well marked. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
The one river crossing has many options to cross. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There's a blow down about 1/2 mile below the intersection with the Rollins Trail. Seemed to be recent, not leftover from Winter. Someone had broken a hole through big enough to get through, but I decided to break back more branches to clear out most of the trail. Someone just needs to come along with a saw to cut out two branches near the top. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
There's a few spots scattered around the trail to drink. A couple of steep sections at the top are not dog friendly, but I did see a few dogs on the trail. |
|
| Bugs: |
The black flies are starting to get bad. Mainly in the hardwood forest. I couldn't stop there without starting to get eaten. When we stopped at the Northwest outlook for 30 minutes, they didn't both us, though. |

| Comments: |
It was an amazing day! 75 degrees, almost up to 80 in the valley, and we were able to sit at the outlook without being cold (I was in just shorts and a t-shirt). Almost no wind.
This was my first hike in the Sandwich Range, even though I've hiked ALOT in the Whites. I really like the area and I'll certainly be back. The Dicey Mill Trail is beautiful and so so well maintained. |
