Hikers I talked to said crossing at Glenn Ellis was a little tricky with poles being helpful. My only difficult one was at the bottom of ski trail; a little awkward steps and wet rocks. |

No issues; one 8" blowdown easily gotten under on Nineteen Mile Brook Tr.. |

| Comments: |
Pleased to find ice conditions much easier than have been reported for last 2-3 months. I brought 3 pairs of traction and a rope (first time ever taking a rope); but never needed any of it. 3 other hikers met in all with my early start. 2 coming up from Glenn Ellis side; not needing traction as well said no snow/ice from start to C/D col. Only two problematic stretches of ice; both about 200 feet long. One on upper section of Nineteen Mile and one going down C towards D. I would still carry spikes (being such a light addition) just in case. Ice on the flat sections was dirty providing traction but a good rain could clear it all off making for slick conditions. Nice, dry trails and great views and weather otherwise. |
