after a 10 mile drive on paris and phillips brook roads over some holes, ruts and bulging rocks, I was ready to climb. the signs at the gate warned against unauthorized persons on the road. I went anyway after that drive but was very uneasy the whole way. maybe a b'wack from the other side is the answer. did a 2 hr. roundtrip up to tower 26 and back spotting two moose along the way. was glad to be down especially when two trucks of employees arrived as I was leaving. we waved to each other and that was it. phew! saw a mother moose and yearling on paris rd. on the way out. lots of reasons to drive slow up there. great views from access rd. on way down. |
