Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Gale River crossing easy. High water on Little River crossing on N Twin Trail. We managed without getting boots wet by using a blowdown partially in the river and rocks the rest of the way across. Pups loved all the water
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of step over blowdowns. One major spruce on North Twin Tr blocking entire trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Perfect day and trail conditions for dogs. Ella and Eva loved it. Lots of water for drinking and wading. A couple of good mud holes for cooling off, their favorite.

Comments
Comments: Superb weather! Loved the point-to-point route over the Twins with no backtracking. Gale River Trail was dry at first, some mud spots, then patches of ice but we were able to rock hop the whole way--never had to put on microspikes all day, but we carried them in case. Couple inches of snow over ice going up Twinway to South Twin. More snow between S and N Twin and even more snow heading down N Twin Trail but managed without any traction. Surprised at the amount of snow up there that lasted more than a mile down the N Twin Trail. Then trail became dry and wet. Stream crossing was high but we were able to keep dry boots by crossing on a blowdown just downstream from trail and then rocks the rest of the way across. Perfect day with Ella and Eva and Dick. Glorious!
