In the morning I started from Mizpah hut, and returned to there to end the hike. Absolutely perfect day, warm, fairly calm wind, sunny, exceptional visibility, trail was in great shape. Starting off I put on micros a couple times, but it was not really necessary. Any lingering ice/snow patches are minor and probably won't be around much longer. Didn't run into too many people. I skipped Eisenhower on my way to Washington. When I got there on my way back, I had it all to myself. Saw lots of frogs swimming and croaking in a pond near Eisenhower. Hiked out from Mizpah on Sunday in a snow storm. |
