Beautiful weather for our first trip up Garfield. Lots of flowers and chipmunks out today down low. Patchy ice starts around 3500 feet. I recommend putting on traction at the first major snow/slush/ice bulge on the right. The final push to the summit is slick and steep, and very slushy as well. Take your time. I did see some people barebooting to the top, but it's not the safest idea. Lots of people out today, as they should have been. Great day for a hike! |
