Comments
Comments: Today was probably the warmest day of the year in the Whites for me, and lovely bluebird skies. It was pretty crowded at the summit today. The tower was filled with people up and below. In terms of ice, there is an off-and-on ice monorail starting at about 3700', and then Signal Ridge is clear. The last 0.5 mile to the summit has ice, but we didn't use our spikes going up or down. I would recommend bringing traction, but some may decide that the ice is avoidable. There were a couple parts that may be dicey without traction. Overall, trail is in great shape.
