The eyeglasses that I saw 2 weeks ago are still at the sign at the trail head. There was also a navy blue bandana there. |

NO TRACTION NEEDED! What a difference 12 days (and the 76 degree temps on Thursday) makes. The bottom of the trail is dry. There is some mud after the last water crossing leading up to the lookout at the ski trail. About half way up there are a few scattered patches of ice that are easily avoidable. Further up there is a small monorail of ice that only takes up half of the trail and can be avoided. When you get to the summit loop, I recommend taking the blue trail to the left. It's completely dry. If you continue on the yellow trail to the right there is a short monorail of snow. I was able to get up it by walking around it and partially walking on it without needing microspikes. I wouldn't recommend descending this way. |
