Dog-Related Notes: Excellent trails for dogs that don't mind ledges and scrambles, Max had a blast running through every bit of mud he could find. There was plenty of water he found to drink and wade in.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: On WCT there was a blow-down that I crawled under and noticed a pair of Scott light weight curved alpine ski poles. I packed my own poles and used these tall poles the rest of the day. Please email me if they belong to you, and arrange for pick-up. I also packed out a sunscreen cap and bolt/washer.

Comments
Comments: JWT and JBT is where I saw the most mud today, but it was easy to avoid. Met Terry from Ma. and leapfrogged for a bit with him. I put dull spring spikes on at 3200 ft and kept them on until the sharp left before the ledges (just before the summit of Jackson). On the WCT to CP you can play on-off-on-off spike game or hunt for bare rocks and earth at the edge of the trail; I did both. Once on CP spikes are needed, there is a lot of ice left but it was easy to manage in dull rock spikes because of the warmth the afternoon sun. I took off spikes at junction of CP and Mizpah cut-off. It was great to see John G. - and it's inspiring to hear that he has 4 hikes left for his Calendar Day! Woohoo, Huge Congratulations!!
