| Comments: |
Trail was mostly hard icy mud for about 1.5 miles. After this point (around 3000 feet) more consistent ice with rocks/rock steps which were eventually ice covered as well from recent rain. There was a thin layer of new snow over everything. Barebooted to summit but not the wisest idea. Donned the microspikes at the summit and on the descent, kept them on til the view point, at which time I scooted over to the ski trail and removed the spikes. A very quick descent from this point to the car on flat grassy, somewhat muddy ski trail. Took advantage of the beautiful views on the mountain as I would be heading to Waumbek next. |
