Wet and slippery then around 3,200 ft. elevation ice became pretty continuous, I donned my microspikes. Had no problems. On the descent the spikes held well, lots of water running down the ice. After I took spikes off at 3200, slipped a few times on the slippery rock but never fell. Quite a few youths at summit with no traction. An hour after I finished I saw the Twin Mtn. ambulance at the TH along with volunteers arriving (around 4:30) didn't stop to ask what happened, I suspect someone w/o traction fell. |
