Comments
Comments: Bare booted to the intersection with Pine Bend Brook before putting on rock spikes. Should have waited. Small 100 yard section of hardened snow followed by about 1/4 mile of dry trail before traction was needed, then, rock spikes were not enough. Ended up putting on Hillsounds later. The steep section of trail from here to North Tripyramid is still mostly ice. Sharp Hillsounds are probably the choice at this point, but as of yesterday, trail crampons would still not be overkill. Trail between North and Middle was patchy with both icy and dry sections of trail, leave the Hillsounds on, take trail crampons off.
