| Comments: |
The Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail was covered in low-angle ice slabs. Crampons necessary, as several of the slabs are no fall zones. Several hikers had Hillsounds and microspikes but these required hugging trees and skirting the side of the trails to avoid the ice. Above treeline, most ice and snow is gone and traction isn't needed. The descent next to the cog railway down which was free of ice and snow and was quite sunny. |
