Comments
Comments: Valley Way from Appalachia to Madison Hut - frozen granular this morning, barebootable.

Osgood Trail from hut to Madison - lots of bare rock, some blue ice, some spring snow. Microspikes could be enough, though I wore crampons.

Gulfside Trail to Air Line to Adams - frozen granular, spring snow. I wore crampons.

Lowe's Path to Adams 4 - frozen granular, some ice on top of it, crampons a good idea.

Lowe's Path to Grey Knob hut - significant snowless portions with blue ice mixed in. Some were able to ascend with lighter traction, but crampons would be a good idea.

Hincks Trail to Spur Trail to Randolph Path to Short Line to Air Line - light traction adequate down to Randolph Path, from there I barebooted. No postholing if staying on the path. Spring snow without a crust down low.
