Comments
Comments: This trail is ice free for about the first 1/4 mile and then let the ice begin, it still has the most ice I've seen this spring. (North facing trail) Although it is melting it's still very thick in most places. In many places it is on a side hill and no flat foot steps for your feet. I used hillsounds today but most would want crampons as they would be a better choice. I was lucky the ice was soft today. There are melt streams running down the trail also. I had a much easier time going up then coming down so use cautain. The trail does get better above the first view piont. The summit was socked in the clouds with no views this am.
