Comments
Comments: Hiked the peaks last September and it was the first time I hiked the relocated trail on Cedar Brook trail. It avoids one of the brook crossing and the usual mud pits, though the new trail will soon be muddy too. Going up to South Hancock was a good choice ( read about it a week ago). The ice was soft and my Hillsounds were adequate. The trail between the peaks had some ice and snow but I kept on my Hillsounds. The way down from North Hancock had less ice and many sections were actually bare. I wore my Hillsounds down the Loop trail to the last crossing before getting to Cedar Brook trail. From there it was easy to bareboot. Met four hikers who had no traction devices with them. Told them to avoid South Hancock and they could try getting up North Hancock by hugging trees. Are people reading any trail reports??
