| Comments: |
The trail up to Champney Falls was fine with avoidable ice. Beyond that, there were a couple miles through the woods of extremely slick ice that was questionable traversing even with microspikes. Crampons would not have been overkill. Many people had to turn around due to no traction. A couple people made it through without traction via bushwhacking along the trail (not recommended). Once to the exposed summit, it was bare rock and felt like summer hiking once again. |
