Comments
Comments: Signal Ridge Trail is a mix of ice and bare ground until the trail gets steep just after two miles in, we were taking our microspikes on and off. From that point on the trail is covered in ice with a thin layer of snow over it and just ice in other spots, Whitney microspiked up and down, I wore my crampons on the way down for better traction, Whitney was fine in the microspikes descending while using caution and some tree hugging where the ice was hard. Both our microspikes are sharp, dull spikes would make things a more difficult on the descent. Beautiful day out on Mount Carrigain :)
