I hadn't been up this way for a few years and was really glad that I chose it for today. I was most of the way up Scaur Ridge Trail before there was any frozen stuff in the trail. From the junction with Pine Bend up over North, the trail was very icy. My now dull Hillsounds could barely hold on. I used alot of trees and a few BW to get around the worst of it. From North to Middle was less icy but there was still some sketchy spots. I thought I might have better luck heading south off the South Tripyramid slide and it worked pretty well. The top wasn't too icy and the slide itself was snow free. The was some ice at the bottom but was much softer then the other side. I forgot how lovely the bottom section was. It was well browsed by moose and there was alot brooks\stream\springs flowing. Didn't see a soul up on the ridge. |
