Comments
Comments: Sawyer River Road is mostly clear except for a couple short ice patches early on. Easy to walk around. Put on Hillsounds a few minutes in on Signal Ridge Trail. Lots of hard ice down low. Old micros didn't work well. Bare ground for awhile where we didn't need traction. Put Hillsounds back on a half mile or so after Carrigan Notch trail junction then switched to K10 crampons for last 2 miles. Some major ice flows! Winds were fine along the ridge. Stayed in crampons for the descent. We didn't see anyone all day!
