Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: trail well maintained. No snow or ice for first 1.25 miles, then some ice with dusting of snow. At about 2 miles trail was all ice with 1/2" or so of new snow. Carriage road was deep, solid ice with an inch or two of new light snow. Open area near summit covered with thin ice, definite need for micro spikes even on this rocky area. Last 1/2 to 3/4 mile on Glencliff trail before junction with Carriage Road some pretty solid ice flows on trail. Crampons on this area not a bad idea (esp. descending) but micro spikes and trekking poles got the job done.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: met one well trained and behaved dog
Bugs
Bugs: I saw two on my way down
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nothing

Comments
Comments: Met 6 other people on the trail. Temperature was almost perfect for hiking, although some wind on the summit. As an earlier trail report today noted the rime ice on the signs at and near the summit was interesting and beautiful. The views from the summit in every direction were clear and long. Really nice profile of the Presidential range. The trails on the ski mountains located way into Vermont showed up well.
