| Comments: |
The entire circuit can be completed with microspikes. In some bare ground stretches no traction is required. No need for crampons nor snowshoes. Mostly a hard packed frozen slush path with softening of the surface in the afternoon heat. Plenty of dry surfaces at the bare summit to permit sitting to enjoy a snack while taking in the views in all directions. Some mud and running water on the open ridge sections between Mt Moosilauke and South Peak.
A good hike with Lance today. Good to meet Steve Martin again. Lots of other hikers enjoying the day. |
