One long stretch of thick blue ice floe would be hard to navigate for dogs I imagine. Saw one dog on trail near the summit seemed to be doing fine. |

| Comments: |
Frozen mud until about a mile up then microspiked the final two and a half miles over Starr King to Waumbek. Crampons would not have been overkill the ice was very thick and slippery. Tree melt turned a lot of it slushy by early afternoon which made for a better descent. Bottom mile was by then very muddy from warmth and a large party of about 20 hikers. |
