Even though Kibo has hundreds of summits in the bag in all seasons and a W48, I would not(and did not) bring her up this route today due to the ice conditions. |

| Comments: |
In the early hours of the day, when the ice is hardest, this route requires crampons. There are many bulging and sometimes lengthy floes of water ice on the steeps. Someone has chopped steps into some of these sections with an ice axe.
I imagine it would be less treacherous on a warmer day when the surface can soften a bit. |
