BWT is definitely "seasonally wet" as described on trail signage. Looks like it doesn't get much traffic. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Rant ahead: When I pulled into the school parking lot, two dogs immediately started chasing my car and I almost hit one of them. Then one of them started jumping on my car. I yelled to the owners that they should be leashed if they are acting like that. They apologized and leashed the dogs. Dog owners: use some basic common sense. If your dog is going to go berserk at moving vehicles, leash it. I don't want to hit your dog and you don't want your dog to be hit. This isn't rocket surgery. |

More redlining to finish up the trails on the west side of Mt. Rowe. Turns out I didn't need the lower section of BWT, as I had already done it (thought it looked familiar), but hadn't noted it on my map or spreadsheet. Oh well. ;) Up and down the MRT to the ridge, via many switchbacks. Also didn't realize how close this trail is to the Yellow Trail, mere feet in places.
Returning on the GESNT, I took the abandoned (?) green-blazed section from near the playground to the boardwalk. I'm guessing this section was relocated as it looks to be pretty wet?
What's the deal with the picnic tables and fire ring along the MRT? A hangout for locals?
Trails dry and snow-free. One tiny piece of black ice along the MRT. |
