Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: yellow blazes are sporadic mostly at the beginning of the trail, non-existent farther up. Spruces and balsa pines need trimming back. It appears that a re-route beginning at the major stream crossing has been created to replace a badly washed out section.

Comments
Comments: We celebrated Steve Tedeschi's final winter 4K on the summit with wine, cheese, and brownies. It was a gorgeous day with little wind, bright skies, and no clouds. After the major stream crossing we continued straight but GPS's indicated we had missed the left turn to continue on the Signal Ridge trail. We backtracked and found the trail noting that a large tree had fallen right after the stream crossing where the trail turned off to the left. After a short ways we came to another intersection with a trail joining us on the right. It appears that a section of the trail as been relocated due to severe erosion. We stuck with the original trail. The road was a mix of ice, crusty snow, and bare gravel. The Signal Ridge trail started out with a mix of bare ground and ice but soon became all packed snow and ice. One spot along the river has a mound of ice slanting towards a 10 foot drop off to the river bed. One should proceed carefully over this stretch. Microspikes worked fine the entire way.
